Hi, I’m Sarah, and I came into surrogacy after being a surrogate myself! That experience changed how I see this work and how I show up in it. I know firsthand what surrogates carry, emotionally, physically, and mentally, and I understand how much intended parents rely on steady, trustworthy support. That perspective shapes everything I do, from coordination to advocacy to leadership.

When things in the industry unraveled quickly and unexpectedly, I felt a strong responsibility to stay involved. Having entered this field through my own surrogacy journey, I couldn’t ignore the impact that instability had on surrogates and intended parents who depended on consistency and follow-through. Instead of stepping back, I stepped up. I focused on creating steadiness in a moment that felt anything but steady, because people deserved support they could count on.

In stressful moments, I tend to be the calm presence people lean on. I listen, help slow things down, and focus on making the situation feel more understandable and manageable. I care deeply about keeping things from escalating and making sure everyone knows what’s happening and what comes next. When advocacy is needed, I step in and speak up, always to protect the people at the center of the journey.

Trust is the one thing I refuse to compromise on. Without it, surrogacy doesn’t work! Transparency, follow-through, and doing what’s right matter to me because trust is what keeps surrogates and families safe. Built Together Surrogacy exists to protect people. Surrogates and intended parents deserve to feel protected emotionally, medically, and ethically throughout the entire journey. Having lived this process myself, I know how important honesty and clarity are, and how much it matters to have someone who will advocate for you every step of the way!

I want people who work with Built Together to feel supported, understood, and confident. I want surrogates and intended parents to know they are treated with care and respect, and that the relationship doesn’t end at a milestone. We stay present, we stay available, and we continue to care. Putting humans first means treating people like people always. It means listening carefully, checking in, being honest about challenges, and making sure no one feels blindsided. It also means maintaining relationships long after the journey, because support shouldn’t disappear once paperwork is signed or milestones are reached.

Outside of surrogacy, my family keeps me grounded. I co-own a sports performance gym with my husband, and we have five kids. Life is full, busy, and very real, which helps keep me present and balanced in this work. Built Together became real for me when I saw something difficult and frustrating turn into something meaningful and supportive. We created an agency rooted in transparency, care, and integrity, and watching surrogates and intended parents thrive in that environment confirmed that this was exactly what was needed!

After everything I’ve witnessed, I feel an even deeper responsibility to help build a community where surrogates and intended parents feel informed, supported, and valued. Leading with integrity is the standard I hold myself to every day!
